Pendix EDRIVE mid-motor

The Pendix e-bike system isn't a complete e-bike. It combines a powerful 65 Nm mid-drive motor with a frame battery that we can install on almost any standard bicycle. The system can also be retrofitted to almost any existing bicycle (please inquire beforehand whether yours is compatible).

The unique feature of the Pendix Edrive system is that the motor has virtually no internal resistance when switched off. The motor's resistance is comparable to that of a hub dynamo. Because the motor has virtually no internal resistance when switched off, you can easily cycle without the motor running, which is virtually impossible with other brands like Bosch or Shimano e-bikes.

THE POWERFUL AND QUIET PENDIX EDRIVE MOTOR

The Pendix mid-motor is very quiet and, with its 65 Newton-meter torque, also very powerful. The system offers three support levels, easily adjusted with the dial on top of the battery.

In Eco mode, the motor boosts your pedaling power by 75%. In Smart mode, the motor boosts your pedaling power by 150%. And in Power mode, your pedaling power is boosted by a whopping 200%.

But with the Pendix app, you can customize these modes to your liking, significantly increasing your range. By choosing to minimize the system's assistance and taking advantage of natural driving behavior, you can easily adjust your driving style.

Choice of 2 types of batteries

The Pendix Edrive set is available in two versions: one with a 300 Wh battery and one with a 500 Wh battery. Both versions offer the same power, with only a difference in battery capacity. A 500 Wh battery offers more mileage than the 300 Wh version.

See the tables below for an indication of the range (this table is based on the default factory settings for support). The 300 Wh battery is considerably smaller than the 500 Wh version and therefore perhaps visually more appealing. The batteries are interchangeable.

THE PENDIX E-BIKE BATTERY

Thanks to the attractive colored lighting on the battery, you can see exactly how full your battery is. When fully charged, the battery is green. Once the battery level drops below 70%, it turns yellow. When the level drops below 40%, the lights turn orange, and when the battery level drops to 10%, they turn red.

A fun option is mounting your smartphone on a handlebar mount. You can then use the Pendix Pro app to see exactly how much battery life you have left. The app also shows your speed, the distance traveled, and other great features. You can also customize the riding mode via this app.

The battery has a USB-C port, allowing you to charge your phone with the separately available phone charging cable (depending on your phone brand and model). A full charge takes about 3-4 hours and is easy thanks to the stylish charging station, which allows you to place the battery upright.

Because there is currently no reliable battery lock for the popular Pendix batteries, we at Jongerius Handmade Bicycles decided to develop a reliable and, above all, user-friendly battery lock ourselves.

After months of development and testing, the By Jongerius Pendix battery lock was created. The By Jongerius Pendix battery lock can be retrofitted to your existing Pendix battery holder.

The By Jongerius battery lock is also suitable if you have a Pendix system on another brand of bicycle (with the exception of the beveled plastic holders).

Available now for €129 (including installation). For this price, we will install the battery lock for you in our workshop by appointment.

BY JONGERIUS PENDIX ACCU CAP

Our new By Jongerius Pendix battery cap protects your battery's contact points from moisture and dirt when parking your bike in the rain or transporting it on the rear bike rack. This prevents malfunctions or short circuits with your expensive Pendix battery.

The By Jongerius Pendix battery cap can be used with the By Jongerius Pendix battery lock, preventing the cap from being stolen. The cap also fits without the battery lock and is suitable for mounting on all other bicycle brands with a Pendix motor.

We supply the By Jongerius Pendix battery cap including a handy holder so that you can easily take the cap with you once the battery is installed.

The By Jongerius Pendix USB protector prevents dirt and moisture from entering the USB charging port of your Pendix battery. The battery ring also provides protection because the soft material is less likely to scratch or dent your frame when removing the battery.

You can choose between a white version where you can still see the colored illuminated ring of your battery or a black version where you can still read the color and status of your battery charge at the top of the battery.

The black version is also very handy if you want to charge the battery in your tent at night during a cycling holiday but don't like the brightly lit ring of the Pendix battery disturbing your sleep.
