For almost 25 years, Wilfried Schmidt has been making the world's best hub dynamos in Tübingen, Germany. It started in his parents' garage and has now grown into a fantastic company.

For years, SON has been known for producing top-quality hub dynamo lights. Approximately 15,000 hub dynamos and 10,000 lights are shipped annually to customers worldwide.

Development, production, and sales are spread across several buildings in Tübingen's French Quarter. A team of 30 cycling enthusiasts produces top-quality SON products here.

Turned and milled parts are manufactured with high precision using modern CNC machines. In-house developed machines and systems for special machining enable the cost-effective production of even highly specialized parts. Every hub dynamo and headlight is thoroughly inspected and tested during and after assembly before leaving the factory.

4 COLORS AND HIGH PERFORMANCE AT A LOW SPEED

Son hub dynamos are known for their high efficiency (full efficiency even at a low speed of 16 km/h) and high quality. For this reason, Son offers a full 5-year warranty on all its products.

Son offers hub dynamos in both quick-release and thru-axle versions. At Jongerius, we use the extra-strong 110x15 mm thru-axle version in all hub dynamo models.

For all Jongerius bicycles, you can choose from the anodized colors black, silver, red, and blue for both the hub dynamo and the headlight and rear light.

These coloured parts can be combined with matching parts in virtually the same colour from Rohloff (hubs), Pinion (gearbox and shifters) and Hope (hubs, spacers, pedals and seatpost clamps).

For the lighting, Son uses special and extra strong coaxial cables.

An important feature of the Son Edelux headlamps is that they use virtually no plastic, but durable aluminium.

The Son Edelux headlights, combined with a Son hub dynamo, offer a consistent beam even at low speeds, without flickering. This beam is wide and far ahead, yet non-blinding, making it ideal for city driving or long trips.

The hub dynamo headlight versions have a light output of 100 lux and continue to shine for approximately 4 minutes even when stationary. The new Edelux DC170 e-bike headlight from Son boasts a light output of an impressive 170 lux.

SON REAR LIGHT SMALL BUT VERY BRIGHT

The Son rear light, which is also equipped with coaxial cables, is small but very bright.

Thanks to the aluminum housing in your favorite color (black, silver, red or blue), the rear light can withstand a knock and completes the design of your bike.

Thanks to the integrated reflector and parking light, you are clearly visible even when stationary.

Combine a Son hub dynamo with the Cycle2Charge USB charger

Combine the Son hub dynamo with the Cycle2charge USB charger and power your phone, GPS, or power bank with your own generated power while riding. We mount the Cycle2charge to your handlebars and neatly route the wiring to the hub dynamo.

To use the Cycle2charge you need to turn the headlight to the off position.

For optimal performance, combine the Cycle2charge with an Xtorm power bank. This way, you can easily power your devices even during long journeys.

At Jongerius Handmade Bicycles, we custom-build your dream bike in Vleuten. Besides choosing your favorite color and all the components you want, such as the saddle, seatpost, handlebars, stem, and more, you also choose the color of the stickers and hubs. We use the best components from well-known brands like Schwalbe, Son, Ergon, Terry, Brooks, Tubus, and Gates. We also develop many of our own high-quality Jongerius components.
