Are you looking for an alternative to the standard Rohloff twist shifter?
At Jongerius Handmade Bicycles, we have a great alternative if you have limited strength in your hands or simply prefer to use thumb shifters for your Rohloff 14-speed hub.

Gebla Rohbox with Sram thumb adjusters
Easier shifting with your Rohloff hub
The Gebla Rohbox allows you to combine both the (modified) Sram thumb shifters and the Sram Double tap shifters with a Rohloff 14-speed hub.
Instead of 1 rotary switch on the right, you get a shifter on both the left and right, allowing you to shift up on one side and down on the other.
The Gebla Rohbox can be mounted on your bicycle afterwards
The Gebla Rohbox can easily be retrofitted to your bike at Jongerius. We'll replace the existing Rohloff shifting unit on the rear left of your hub with the Gebla Rohbox. We'll also install new inner gear cables into the existing outer cables.
We install the shifters you'll use to shift on the left and right sides. Keep in mind that your grips will also need to be replaced, as the standard Rohloff twist grip has a short and a long grip.
When using the Rohbox, you get a long handle mounted on both sides.

Shifting with the Gebla Rohbox is similar to a derailleur system. You shift up with the left shifter, and down with the right shifter.
The advantage over a derailleur system is that the Rohloff hub requires minimal maintenance and can even be shifted while stationary. This is especially useful if you're stopped at a traffic light and want to quickly select a lower gear.
Sram triggers modified by us for Rohloff
We install the Rohbox in combination with SRAM shifters that we've specially modified. The standard SRAM trigger and double-tap shifters have a click, and you'll feel the gear changes when you install these shifters on a derailleur system.
For a Rohloff hub, it's a different story because the 14 steps are in the Rohloff hub itself, which is why we modify these shifters so that they shift perfectly in combination with a Rohloff hub.

The photo shows the inside of the Gebla Rohbox. After removing the standard Rohloff shifting unit, we install the Gebla Rohbox shifting unit.
The existing Rohloff outer cables remain in place, but we install new inner cables that are connected to the shifters on the left and right sides of the handlebars.
The 2 springs at the top and bottom of the Rohbox shifting unit ensure optimal shifting.
Gebla Rohbox also available on gravel bikes and with racing handlebars
The Rohbox can also be mounted on a road or gravel handlebar. We'll then install our modified SRAM double-tap shifters, which are paired with powerful SRAM hydraulic disc brakes.
This way, you can shift gears on your holiday bike with racing handlebars, gravel bike or beach racer, just like on a racing bike.
If you'd like more information about the possibilities of a Gebla Rohbox on your bike, we recommend sending an email and we'll be happy to tell you all the options.

I have a Koga Colmaro gravel bike. Currently equipped with a GRX groupset.
Suppose I want to convert it with a Rolhoff, what price should I expect?
Parts and labor hours separate.
Do the Sram shifters work with mineral oil, or do I need to replace the Shimano calipers as well?

Hi Mark, thanks for your interest in our Jongerius bikes. Based solely on the photos I found of this Koga via Google, I don't think a Rohloff hub will fit on this bike with a derailleur system.
We install special adjustable dropouts on our bikes to tighten the belt. Feel free to email us some photos of your bike so we can take a closer look. Sincerely, John
